The American brand Primary Arms, famous for high-quality magnifiers for red dots and prism sights as well as shooting accessories, stormed the U.S. market by offering products with an excellent price-to-performance ratio. Most products from this brand are covered by a lifetime warranty, which strongly emphasizes confidence in the offered goods. Primary Arms is also known for its proprietary ACSS reticle, which allows novice shooters to rapidly improve their shooting skills.
The SLx FS 3x Micro ACSS Pegasus magnifier belongs to the Primary Arms SLx optics line, whose stellar reputation is built on three pillars: reliability, innovation, and unbeatable value. During field tests, Primary Arms optics were tested on a SCAR 17 .308 Win, from which over 7,000 rounds were fired without harm to the optics.
Primary Arms SLx 3x ACSS Pegasus is a micro magnifier with 3× magnification that allows the rifle to be instantly prepared for shooting at longer ranges. The magnifier features increased eye-relief (Long Relief), a wider field of view, improved light transmission, and the innovative ACSS Pegasus reticle, which functions as an analog rangefinder.
The magnifier fits red dots, prism and holographic sights. It is mounted behind the electro-optical sight (red dot, holographic sight, or prism sight), which enlarges the target image, making it easier to identify and engage precisely.
Primary Arms SLx 3x Micro ACSS Pegasus — a red-dot magnifier with an analog rangefinder function
SLx 3x Micro is the first magnifier with the ACSS Pegasus reticle specifically designed for shooting magnifiers.
Most magnifiers simply enlarge the aiming point of the primary optic, while ACSS Pegasus is an etched glass reticle that is an extremely functional aiming tool, allowing quick estimation of distance to silhouette targets and larger objects (e.g., vehicles) using a scale expressed in milliradians.
The ACSS Pegasus reticle allows range estimation based on average silhouette height (177 cm), silhouette shoulder width (71 cm), and milliradian markings (requires conversion). The ACSS Pegasus reticle is discreet, integrates easily with the optic reticle, and its intuitive layout makes obtaining accurate range estimates within seconds straightforward.
Primary Arms SLx 3x not only increases shot accuracy at extended ranges, it also compensates for the biggest weakness of red dot/holographic sights — the difficulty of delivering precise fire at longer distances.
The ability to rapidly adapt a rifle for engaging distant targets, combined with the relatively low cost of a magnifier (compared to a riflescope), has made magnifiers increasingly popular among sport shooters, soldiers, and hunters. A magnifier is a convenient and effective solution for shooters who regularly use the 1× magnification provided by a red dot/holographic sight but want to zoom in on a distant target at any moment.
The housing is made from anodized aircraft-grade aluminum with high resistance to shock and corrosion. The tube is filled with nitrogen and thoroughly sealed, making the optic resistant to fogging (internal condensation), weather conditions, and firearm recoil. A rubber armor protects the magnifier body, increasing resistance to mechanical damage.
The optic offers a fixed 3× magnification and provides a wide field of view of 11.7/100 m. The image can be adjusted vertically and horizontally and precisely focused using the diopter. Adjustment screws are recessed into the tube so they do not obstruct the field of view. The unit uses quality multi-coated optics that significantly improve contrast and light transmission, delivering excellent image quality.
