Vortex Spitfire HD Gen II 3x is a prismatic device of the new generation designed with 5.56-caliber carbines in mind.
The Vortex Spitfire HD Gen II is a worthy successor to the popular prismatic device. In this new generation the optical layout, device body and reticle were updated. The result is a lighter, more compact 3× prismatic device featuring HD optics and an AR-BDC MOA reticle calibrated for 5.56 ballistics.
aim adjustment range increased to 250 MOA (vertical and horizontal),
reduced weight and overall size of the device,
AR-BDC4 reticle calibrated for 5.56 ammunition.
With the BDC reticle the shooter can quickly change engagement ranges without adding extra elevation corrections on the turrets. The high-contrast, easy-to-read reticle enables both precise and rapid shooting in various lighting conditions. The reticle provides a wide field of view of 10.5/100 m. It consists of a central 1 MOA dot, a surrounding 1.5 MOA partial ring, and a vertical post with four horizontal stadia allowing elevation corrections for targets from 300 to 600 yards (274–548 m). Reticle adjustments are made via open turrets; one click equals 1 MOA. The full adjustment range is 250 MOA vertically and horizontally. The Spitfire HD Gen II uses an eyepiece with focus adjustment designed for quick and easy sharp reticle focus.
The device is powered by a CR2032 battery mounted on the side. To extend operating time, the device includes an auto-shutoff system after 14 hours since the last button press.
Included in the kit: lens covers, Torx multifunction key, cleaning cloth, CR2032 battery and 2 mounts: a high 1/3 (40 mm) co-witness for carbines and a low (27 mm) mount.
