SLx prism scopes combine the speed of target acquisition typical for red dot sights, the precision of an optical scope, and a compact form factor — which is why they are popular not only among shooters with astigmatism but also among those seeking a versatile optic for short- and mid-range shooting.
The American brand Primary Arms, renowned for high-quality optics, red dot sights, prism scopes and shooting accessories, rapidly gained traction in the U.S. market by offering products with an excellent price-to-performance ratio. Most products of this brand are covered by a lifetime warranty, clearly underlining confidence in the offered goods. Primary Arms is also well known for its proprietary ACSS reticle, which helps beginner shooters quickly improve their marksmanship.
Features of the Primary Arms SLx 1X MicroPrism prism sight:
The Primary Arms SLx 1X uses an improved ACSS Gemini 9 mm reticle etched on premium low-dispersion glass, the AutoLive system responsible for long battery life, and a reinforced mounting base ensuring rigidity and reliable attachment to the firearm.
Primary Arms SLx 1x is a true 1× prism sight that works great for fast both-eyes-open shooting at close ranges. Many shooters suffer from astigmatism — a vision condition where a reflex sight’s dot can appear smeared or distorted. That makes aiming especially difficult at small, distant targets. The issue can be solved by replacing a reflex sight with a prism sight, delivering a clearer image without parallax and improved precision at mid-range distances.
Unlike reflex sights, magnified prism scopes feature a BDC reticle and provide a much clearer parallax-free image. They also offer greater precision at longer ranges while allowing both-eyes-open aiming with full situational awareness.
The sight features a sealed aluminum housing rated IP67, providing resistance to fogging, rain and shocks. The optic offers a 10.3 mm exit pupil and a spacious eyebox, allowing rapid cheek weld and sight acquisition without the need for perfect optical alignment. As a result, the Primary Arms SLx 1X is excellent for dynamic shooting at moving targets where there may not be time for a perfect cheek weld.
The proprietary ACSS 9 mm reticle is glass-etched and remains visible regardless of time of day, even without illumination. The aiming mark is red-illuminated (horseshoe and chevron) with 13 daylight settings and 3 night-vision modes. The AutoLive motion sensor extends battery life up to 29,000 hours at medium brightness. After extended inactivity AutoLive automatically turns off the illumination and instantly restores it when the firearm is moved.
ACSS Gemini is Primary Arms’ proprietary reticle calibrated for PCC 9 mm ballistics. The reticle features a thin central chevron (inverted V) surrounded by a thicker horseshoe and a point-based holdover scale beneath the chevron for elevation corrections. The result is an intuitive reticle that performs excellently for fast close-range shooting and precise mid-range engagements. Markings are given in meters for convenient field use.
The Primary Arms SLx 1X MicroPrism ships with a robust aluminum mount with steel hardware to ensure stable, repeatable zero. Optional risers are available to set the optic at the desired height in up to 8 configurations.
