The Hawke Prism Sight 6x36 5.56 BDC Dot provides 6× magnification for easier target identification at medium ranges and fast both-eyes-open shooting at close range. Shooters with astigmatism often see a blurred or distorted aiming point with red-dot sights, complicating precise shooting. Alternatives include expensive surgery, holographic optics, or the increasingly popular prism devices.

The Hawke Prism Sight features an aluminum housing resistant to shock, dust and moisture. A generous eyebox and long exit pupil distance allow quick acquisition without precise head alignment, making this device excellent for dynamic shooting at moving targets.

The 5.56 BDC reticle is calibrated for 5.56 NATO, .308 Win and 7.62×39 ballistics. The illuminated section is a horseshoe with a central 1 MOA dot for instant target acquisition and fast transitions. Under the horseshoe is a stadia with cross-bars for elevation holds and range estimation. This simple, intuitive reticle excels in both dynamic short-range and precise medium-range engagements.

Illumination features 8 daytime levels and 2 night-vision settings. Illumination is powered by a common CR2032 cell. To extend battery life, the manufacturer uses a ShakeAwake motion-sensor controller that powers down illumination after extended stillness and instantly reactivates it upon movement.
