Walther Rotex RM8 Varmint 5.5 mm PCP is a modern PCP air rifle featuring a polymer thumbhole stock, a precision Lothar Walther barrel with an external thread, and a 200 cm3 air cylinder providing up to 100 shots.
The air rifle features an ergonomic stock made of durable polymer. A synthetic stock is lighter than a wooden one, resistant to weather conditions, and requires minimal maintenance. A distinctive feature highlighting the rifle’s modern design is the thumbhole stock with a dedicated pistol grip and open thumbhole space.
This type of stock ensures a more secure grip on the rifle, increases shooting comfort, especially for shooters with smaller hands, and reduces the overall weight of the airgun. The forearm and pistol grip feature a fine Hi-Grip texturing that prevents the rifle from slipping in the hand. The rear part of the stock is equipped with a ventilated butt pad, allowing the rifle to be comfortably and securely seated in the shoulder.
Thanks to the symmetrical high-profile cheek rest, the rifle can be comfortably used by both right- and left-handed shooters. The stock provides excellent ergonomics and balance, making shooting comfortable regardless of the shooting position.
The Rotex RM8 Varmint is a multi-shot rifle thanks to its rotating aluminum magazine with a capacity of 8 pellets. After inserting the magazine into the action, it is secured magnetically. A side biathlon-style lever is used for cocking and reloading. The cycling action is smooth and light, allowing the shooter to reload without taking their eyes off the target. For shooting it is recommended to use round-nose or flat diabolo pellets.
The Walther Rotex RM8 Varmint is a rifle with impressive accuracy and shot consistency. Its excellent shooting performance results from three key elements: the Lothar Walther barrel, an adjustable trigger mechanism, and the recoil-free PCP power system.
The rifle features a precision choked barrel with a length of 500 mm produced by the renowned manufacturer Lothar Walther. The high manufacturing precision ensures outstanding accuracy, allowing tight shot groups even after a short training session. The barrel ends with a 1/2" UNF external thread for mounting a suppressor or sound moderator.
The trigger mechanism operates smoothly and provides excellent tactile feedback, with the option to adjust pre-travel. A manual safety located at the rear of the receiver protects the trigger mechanism.
Due to their design and power system, PCP air rifles produce virtually no recoil, ensuring excellent accuracy and shooting comfort. The absence of recoil also reduces the risk of losing zero or damaging optical devices, which can occur with powerful spring-piston air rifles.
The Walther Rotex RM8 Varmint 5.5 mm PCP is powered by compressed air stored in a 200 cm3 cylinder. A cylinder filled to the maximum pressure of 232 bar allows approximately 100 shots with energy close to 16 J (190 m/s).
The integrated pressure gauge makes it easy to read the cylinder pressure, allowing the shooter to monitor the remaining air supply. To fill a PCP air rifle, a dedicated high-pressure pump or air tank is required to transfer air into the cylinder.
