Optima by Hatsan AirTact 4,5 mm is a lightweight spring-piston air rifle with a tactical stock, pistol grip, and integrated sound suppressor. The Vortex version is additionally equipped with a gas spring that noticeably reduces recoil and improves accuracy.
Air rifles produced by the Turkish firearms manufacturer Hatsan have enjoyed popularity among Polish shooters for years thanks to the capabilities they offer within their price range. The Optima by Hatsan brand provides the same excellent price-to-quality ratio, which directly results from the solutions used in the production process. Extensive manufacturing capabilities allow every component to be produced in a single factory, ensuring that each air rifle is created from scratch under the careful supervision of Hatsan specialists.
The rifle features a precision-rifled Hatsan Arms barrel with a length of 370 mm, finished with an integrated sound suppressor that significantly reduces the shot noise without decreasing the rifle’s power or balance.
The air rifle is equipped with a Vortex gas spring, responsible for smooth operation, reduced recoil, and improved accuracy. The Vortex Gas Piston system is based on a pneumatic cylinder in which a gas mixture is used instead of a steel spring. When the trigger is pulled, compressed gas sets the piston in motion, compressing the air and firing the pellet. Vortex ensures consistent muzzle velocity and a significantly longer service life of the pneumatic system compared to a standard spring-piston setup.
The most noticeable effect for the shooter is reduced recoil and lighter rifle weight, decreased vibration and shot noise, as well as less effort required for cocking the barrel. Thanks to these features, a rifle equipped with the Vortex spring stands out for its smooth and comfortable operation, above-average precision, and high work culture.
The spring is cocked via the classic “break-barrel” method, widely regarded as the most convenient and practical solution. The Anti Bear-Trap Safety system protects against accidental spring release during cocking, eliminating the risk of hand or facial injury.
The polymer stock features a profiled pistol grip that increases comfort and control. The tactical-style stock has a raised symmetrical cheek piece, enabling comfortable shooting for both right- and left-handed users. Longitudinal texturing on the fore-end and grip improves handling and enhances the rifle’s modern design. The ventilated rubber butt pad effectively absorbs recoil energy and provides a stable support point.
Fiber optic sighting devices TruGlo facilitate and speed up aiming, especially in bright sunlight. The 11 mm rail with a stop pin hole allows installation of a selected optical device. One of the rifle’s greatest advantages is its low weight of 2.75 kg, making it suitable even for younger shooting enthusiasts. Protection against accidental discharge is ensured by a manual and automatic safety.
The pellet fired from the rifle reaches a velocity of up to 250 m/s.
