Optima by Hatsan AirTact PD 4.5 mm is a lightweight spring-piston air rifle featuring an ergonomic Thumb-hole stock. The Vortex version is additionally equipped with a gas spring that noticeably reduces recoil and improves accuracy.
Air rifles produced by the Turkish manufacturer Hatsan have been popular among shooters for years thanks to the capabilities they offer within their price range. The Optima by Hatsan brand delivers the same excellent price-to-quality ratio resulting directly from advanced manufacturing solutions. The company’s extensive production capabilities allow all components to be made in a single factory, ensuring that each air rifle is built from the ground up under the supervision of Hatsan specialists.
The rifle is equipped with a Vortex gas spring, responsible for smooth operation, reduced recoil and improved accuracy. The Vortex Gas Piston system is based on a pneumatic cylinder in which a gas mixture replaces the traditional steel spring.
When the trigger is pulled, compressed gas drives the piston, which compresses air and propels the pellet. Vortex ensures consistent muzzle velocity and a significantly longer service life compared to standard spring-piston systems. The most noticeable effect for the shooter is reduced recoil and lighter overall weight, along with decreased vibration and shooting noise, as well as less effort required for cocking the barrel. Thanks to these features, a Vortex-equipped rifle offers smooth and comfortable operation, above-average precision and high performance culture.
The rifle features a precision rifled barrel by Hatsan Arms, 370 mm long, finished with an integrated sound moderator that significantly reduces the noise level without compromising energy or balance. The spring is cocked by the classic “break-barrel” method, considered the most convenient and practical system. The Anti Bear-Trap Safety system protects against accidental spring release during cocking, eliminating the risk of injury to the hand or face.
The polymer Thumb-hole stock features a comfortable pistol grip and thumb opening for improved control and comfort. The symmetrical Monte Carlo stock with a raised cheekpiece allows convenient shooting for both right- and left-handed users. The fore-end and grip are finished with textured checkering that enhances grip and design. The ventilated rubber butt pad effectively absorbs recoil energy and provides stable shoulder support.
TruGlo fiber optic sights make aiming easier and faster, especially in low-light conditions. The 11 mm rail allows the installation of an optic. One of the rifle’s greatest advantages is its low weight of 2.75 kg, making it suitable even for younger shooting enthusiasts. Both a manual and automatic safety protect against accidental discharge.
The pellet fired from the rifle reaches a velocity of up to 250 m/s.
