Legends Cowboy Rifle 4.5 mm air rifle – construction

Like the real Winchester, the Legends Cowboy Rifle is made mostly of metal, including the barrel, magazine, receiver, loading lever, trigger mechanism, and sighting devices.

Only the stock and grip are made of polymer that perfectly imitates wood. The classic character of the rifle is emphasized by the silver receiver finish.

Power source

The Legends Cowboy Rifle is powered by compressed carbon dioxide from two 12 g CO₂ capsules. The CO₂ cartridges are installed under the butt plate. Installation of the capsules is facilitated by a hex key permanently mounted on the inside of the butt plate.

The fired BB reaches a high muzzle velocity of about 180 m/s, allowing accurate shooting at distances up to 30 m.

The rifle features a realistic loading system that effectively imitates the mechanism of a real Winchester. Unlike classic air rifles, the Legends Cowboy Rifle uses brass dummy cartridges in which BB’s are placed.

These prepared “cartridges” are loaded through the side window of the receiver into the tubular magazine. Chambering the cartridge works exactly like in the Winchester, i.e., by the swinging motion of the loading lever.

Each reload after a shot is accompanied by an impressive shell ejection, which is not found in any other air rifle. The rate of fire depends entirely on the shooter’s skill.

The brass dummy cartridges are reusable, however for greater convenience it is worth purchasing an additional set, which significantly speeds up loading and increases shooting enjoyment.

BB’s are intended for recreational shooting at reactive targets, cans, bottles, etc. Unlike lead pellets, BB’s do not deform even under pressure, which allows them to be safely loaded into the cartridges.

Mechanical sighting devices

The rifle features classic sighting devices consisting of an adjustable rear sight and a fixed bead front sight.
