Umarex TORNADO is an air revolver in 4.5 BB caliber. The model features a modern and slightly futuristic design inspired by various revolver constructions. The frame, cylinder, and outer barrel are made of durable polymer with a matte finish, which perfectly imitates steel and provides realistic weight. The barrel profile features characteristic porting. The grip has anatomical shaping with a non-slip texture. The revolver is powered by 12 g CO2 capsules.
The revolver features mechanical sights consisting of a fixed rear sight and front sight. Additionally, the top of the frame is equipped with a 22 mm Picatinny rail for mounting a red dot sight or a small optical device. The air revolver can also be additionally equipped with a laser pointer or flashlight thanks to the additional rail located under the barrel.
The Tornado is powered by a 12 g CO2 capsule mounted in the grip. Compressed carbon dioxide gives the fired BBs the appropriate velocity. The number of shots largely depends on the air temperature, shooting dynamics, and proper maintenance. It should also be remembered that a pierced CO2 capsule can remain in the replica for a maximum of 48 hours. The set includes an Allen key for tightening the capsule.
The revolver fires steel BB's 4.46 (4.5) mm pellets loaded into a polymer insert with a capacity of 10 pellets. The spherical ammunition is mainly intended for recreational shooting at cans, bottles, and reactive pellet traps. The set includes 3 inserts, which speed up reloading and increase the dynamics and enjoyment of shooting.
The model uses a single/double action (DA/SA) trigger mechanism characterized by a short trigger travel before the shot and relatively low trigger pull. The advantage of this solution is primarily a simple design and the ability to perform precise shots without the risk of pulling them off target. The trigger with the hammer lowered (DA) has a longer travel and higher resistance, but the shooter does not need to manually cock the hammer each time.
The revolver is equipped with a manual safety located in front of the hammer, which when engaged blocks the trigger mechanism and prevents accidental discharge during carrying or in the event of a fall.
