Smith&Wesson M29 4.5 mm 8 3/8" diabolo is a CO2 powered air revolver that faithfully replicates the predecessor of modern Magnum revolvers — the Model 629, which became famous thanks to the “Dirty Harry” movie series starring Clint Eastwood.
The heavy metal construction, impressive shooting efficiency, and realistic loading system are the key advantages of the Smith&Wesson 629 air revolver.
The revolver features a heavy construction made entirely of metal (frame, inner barrel, cylinder) and finished with a blued coating polished to a light gloss.
Licensed Smith & Wesson markings are applied to the barrel and frame. The air revolver features an impressive 8 3/8" barrel, allowing accurate shooting at longer distances. The Smith&Wesson M29 uses mechanical sights consisting of a fixed front sight (with a contrasting insert) and an adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation. Shooting comfort and a secure grip are ensured by textured grips made of wood-like polymer.
The revolver has a realistic loading mechanism that effectively replicates the operation of Smith & Wesson revolvers. The system consists of a rotating cylinder and metal cartridge replicas in which a lead diabolo pellet is placed. After inserting the 4.5 mm pellet into the shell (1 pellet per shell), the prepared cartridges are loaded into the 6-shot cylinder. After firing, the cartridge replicas can be ejected from the cylinder using the extractor, just like in the original firearm. The shells are reusable, although for greater convenience it is worth purchasing additional ones.
The revolver is powered by compressed carbon dioxide supplied from a 12 g CO2 cartridge. The fired diabolo pellet reaches a high muzzle velocity of about 427 fps (energy up to 3 J), allowing accurate shooting at distances exceeding 30 m. Loading and replacing the CO2 cartridge is simple and takes only a few seconds. Simply slide the grip panel, insert the cartridge into the grip, and tighten it using the key permanently attached to the grip panel. The revolver features impressive shooting efficiency. Using a quality cartridge, it is possible to fire up to 160 shots with consistent muzzle velocity. Keep in mind that air temperature and shooting pace have the greatest impact on the number of shots. The revolver features a double-action SA/DA trigger mechanism, meaning the shot can be fired either in self-cocking mode or after manually cocking the hammer. During transport or carrying, the trigger mechanism can be locked using a manual safety (cylinder release) located on the left side of the frame.
