Colt SAA .45 antique 4,5 mm BB CO2 is a beautifully crafted air revolver, being a faithful replica of the legendary Colt SAA, the revolver that changed the face of the Wild West.
The revolver features a heavy construction made almost entirely (except for the grip panels) of heavy alloy and steel. This design ensures reliable operation and contributes to the noticeable weight of the revolver exceeding 860 g.
The air revolver is equipped with a 5.5-inch barrel, allowing accurate shooting even at longer distances after a short training period.
Colt SAA .45 antique 4,5 mm BB CO2 uses mechanical sights with a fixed setting.
The classic character of the revolver is perfectly emphasized by the stylish aged finish and polymer grip panels that closely resemble wood. Just like in a firearm, the revolver grip has an optimal angle, providing comfort and a natural grip during shooting.
All mechanisms such as the trigger, cylinder, hammer, and loading gate are precisely fitted and characterized by smooth and reliable operation.
The revolver features a very realistic loading system that closely replicates the mechanism of the real Colt SA, consisting of a rotating cylinder and brass cartridge replicas in which pellets are placed. The cylinder loading port is protected by a hinged loading gate identical to the original.
After placing BB's pellets in the cartridges, simply load them into the cylinder; once the loading gate is closed, the air revolver is ready to fire. The cartridges are reusable, but for greater convenience it is worth purchasing an additional set, which significantly speeds up loading and increases shooting enjoyment.
BB's pellets are intended for recreational shooting at reactive targets such as cans, bottles, etc. Unlike lead pellets, BB's do not deform even under pressure, making them safe to load into cartridges.
The revolver is powered by compressed carbon dioxide supplied from a 12 g CO2 capsule. The fired pellet reaches a high muzzle velocity of about 120 m/s, allowing accurate shooting at distances up to 20 m.
Loading and replacing the CO2 capsule is very simple — just slide the polymer grip panel, insert the capsule into the compartment, and tighten it using the Allen key.
The installation key is permanently attached to the grip panel, ensuring it is always with the air revolver and preventing the common problem of forgetting the tool needed to replace the capsule.
The revolver uses a classic SA (Single Action) trigger mechanism, which means that the hammer must be manually cocked before each shot, just like in the original western Colt.
Despite this mechanism, the revolver offers a high rate of fire, depending solely on the skill and training of the shooter. During transport or carrying, the trigger mechanism can be locked using a manual safety located in the lower part of the frame.
In 1872, the Colt Patent Firearms Company created the Peacemaker revolver, which the following year was introduced into service with the U.S. Army under the designation Single Action Army. The Colt SAA also achieved great commercial success.
