Colt SAA (Single Action Army) .45 Antique with a 5.5" barrel is a recreational air pistol designed for shooting 4.5 mm Diabolo pellets. This model is an excellently made replica of the original Colt firearm, which became an iconic weapon associated with the “Wild West” era. Thanks to its handiness, ergonomics, and rate of fire, this revolver changed the course of many battlefields. The airgun construction is made almost entirely of heavy metal with small polymer elements (grip panels). The model features a gray and brown color scheme designed to imitate wood and aged steel.
The airgun features a 5.5‑inch rifled barrel, allowing accurate shooting at longer distances even after short practice sessions and making target shooting possible. Rifling stabilizes the pellet’s flight path, increasing accuracy and the distance it can travel.
The airgun uses standard mechanical observation devices typical for the period when the original firearm was created. These include a low‑profile, non‑adjustable front sight integrated with the barrel. The rear element is a notch cut into the frame just above the cylinder. Despite their simplicity, these devices allow comfortable and above all accurate shooting with the airgun.
The revolver features a very realistic loading system that closely replicates the mechanism of the real Colt SA. It consists of a rotating cylinder and metal dummy cartridges (adapters) into which pellets must be inserted beforehand. The loading port is located on the right side and secured with a hinged cover, just like in the original firearm. It is worth noting that the adapters are reusable, but for greater convenience it is recommended to purchase an additional set, which significantly speeds up loading and increases the fun of shooting. The cylinder has a capacity of 6 pellets/adapters.
The revolver is powered by compressed carbon dioxide supplied from a 12‑gram CO2 capsule. The fired pellet reaches a high muzzle velocity of up to approx. 120 m/s, allowing accurate shooting at distances of up to 30 m. Installing and replacing the capsule is very simple — just remove the polymer grip panel, insert the capsule into the port, and tighten it using the hex key. The assembly key is permanently attached to the grip panel, preventing it from being lost.
This model uses a Single Action trigger mechanism (single‑action only) characterized by a short trigger travel before the shot and relatively light pull weight. After firing the first shot, the hammer must be manually cocked again, which also rotates the cylinder and prepares a new adapter with a pellet for the next shot. The main advantages of this solution are the simplicity of the design and the ability to deliver precise shots without the risk of pulling them off target.
