Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP 30 mm EBR-8 is an LPVO riflescope featuring an EBR-8 reticle in the first focal plane, illuminated aiming mark, and variable magnification of 1–8×.

If you own an AR-15 rifle, you are likely considering purchasing an LPVO scope (Low Power Variable Optics) – an optic with low variable magnification. Unlike traditional riflescopes, the magnification range here starts at a true 1× and usually ends at about 10×. LPVO scopes are mainly used on AR-15 rifles and hunting firearms, as they enable dynamic and accurate short-range shooting as well as precise medium- and long-range fire. The one-piece tube is made of aircraft-grade aluminum 6061-T6, providing resistance to recoil, corrosion, and mechanical damage. The anodized tube has a highly durable, anti-reflective finish that resists scratches and wear. Precision sealing and argon purging completely eliminate internal fogging and ensure IPX7 protection against rain, snow, and water immersion.

The 30 mm tube provides a wide adjustment range (145 MOA), allowing accurate shooting at distances of up to 595 m. The external lenses are coated with durable ArmorTek, which protects against scratches, dirt, moisture, and oils. The solid design ensures the riflescope can be safely used in all weather conditions without risk of optical damage. A practical zoom lever is mounted on the eyepiece for quick magnification changes between shots.

Vortex tactical scopes 

The riflescope uses XD glass lenses with low dispersion, providing excellent resolution and contrast. Another benefit of this glass is its relatively low density, which makes the optic lighter. What sets the Strike Eagle apart from competitors is its high light transmission, which enhances image brightness even in poor lighting conditions.

Fully multi-coated anti-reflective layers are applied to all air-to-glass surfaces. The result is a bright image, sharp from edge to edge, with high resolution, accurate color reproduction, and excellent visibility even at maximum 8× magnification. The Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8×24 features an illuminated EBR-8 reticle in the first focal plane (FFP). As magnification changes, the FFP reticle scales proportionally, making it easier to apply holdovers when shooting at longer ranges. The laser-etched reticle on glass guarantees reliability and durability.

The aiming point (dot and open circle) has 11 brightness settings, allowing perfect adjustment to user preference. Two lowest settings are compatible with night vision. A generous eye relief of 99 mm ensures shooter comfort, enabling use with corrective glasses and protecting against heavy-recoil firearms. At true 1× magnification, the illuminated reticle functions like a red dot, enabling fast and dynamic short-range shooting.

The EBR-8 reticle is calibrated for .223 Rem / .308 / 7.62 ammunition but can also be used with other calibers (BDC scale adjustments). An additional upper scale allows for quick range estimation. The adjustments are made with capped, low-profile turrets with knurled covers, operable even with gloves. Each turret click moves the reticle 1/4 MOA (7 mm/100 m). The full adjustment range is 145 MOA vertically and horizontally.
