Hawke optical devices for crossbows are built with uncompromising strength and performance, designed for shooting in demanding field conditions.
The Hawke XB30 Compact Crossbow 2-8x36 SR is a compact optical device for crossbows featuring a one‑piece 30 mm tube made from matte anodized aircraft‑grade aluminum. With a compact 256 mm length and a weight of 435 g, it does not noticeably increase the crossbow’s mass, improving user comfort and mobility. The wide‑angle optical system is sealed and nitrogen‑purged, preventing fogging even during sudden temperature changes. The waterproof and dustproof tube ensures reliable operation in all weather conditions throughout its service life. The device is shock‑resistant and safe for use on powerful crossbows.
The key component influencing the performance and versatility of the Hawke XB30 Compact Crossbow 2-8x36 SR optical device is its advanced reticle, designed for compound crossbows with varying initial bolt speeds.
The device features a red/green illuminated XB30 Compact SR reticle in the second focal plane, with precision settings for distances from 18 to 91 m (zero at 18 m) and a fixed parallax set at 46 m. The reticle consists of four tapered guides, an illuminated aiming cross with a precise range scale (5‑yard increments), and windage hold marks. The eyepiece includes a diopter adjustment ring and a lockable control wheel (patent pending) that performs two functions: magnification adjustment and FPS bolt speed setting. To precisely match the reticle to the crossbow, simply set the magnification/FPS ring according to your bolt parameters. After zeroing at 50 yards (45 m) and setting the FPS, the reticle marks will accurately correspond to the bolt drop trajectory.
The device offers dual‑color reticle illumination (red or green) with a 5‑level brightness adjustment, allowing adaptation to lighting conditions and personal preferences.
Magnification / FPS adjustment range:
The device uses the H2 optical system with fully multi‑coated anti‑reflective lenses (14 layers). This provides excellent brightness, a natural high‑resolution image, and reduced chromatic aberration. Low‑profile capped turrets feature 1/2 MOA click adjustment. The total adjustment range is 180 MOA both vertically and horizontally. Metal caps protect sensitive optics and can be easily installed or removed using the supplied tools.
