What are dome-shaped pellets used for?
Pellets with a semi-round head perform best when shooting at long distances. The aerodynamic head shape results in a low air resistance coefficient, allowing the pellet to lose its initial velocity more slowly. Upon impact, it expands significantly (mushrooms), transferring energy to the target, which is why it is commonly chosen by shooters in the HFT discipline.
