Smith&Wesson M&P R8 is a replica ASG revolver in 6 mm BB caliber. The replica faithfully reproduces the Smith&Wesson M&P R8 from the Performance Center series, effectively combining classic lines with modern technology. A distinctive feature of the revolver is its loading system using adapters that resemble real ammunition. It is powered by a 12-gram CO2 cartridge placed in the grip. The presented version comes in black.
The M29 revolver features mechanical sighting devices, including a fully adjustable rear sight and a fixed front sight with a white dot for quick alignment. Additionally, a small 22 mm accessory rail is located at the end of the barrel.
The replica is powered by a 12-gram CO2 cartridge mounted in the grip. Compressed carbon dioxide gives the BBs appropriate velocity. The number of shots largely depends on air temperature, shooting pace, and proper maintenance. It should also be remembered that a pierced CO2 cartridge can remain in the replica for a maximum of 48 hours.
The revolver features a realistic loading mechanism that effectively replicates the system of Smith&Wesson revolvers. The system consists of a rotating cylinder and metal dummy cartridges into which 6 mm polymer BBs are inserted. After placing a single BB into each shell, the prepared cartridges are loaded into the 6-shot cylinder. After firing, the dummy cartridges can be ejected using the extractor, just like in the original firearm. The shells are reusable, but having spare sets is recommended to speed up reloading.
The model uses a single/double action (DA/SA) trigger mechanism characterized by short trigger travel before the shot and relatively low trigger pull resistance. The advantage of this solution is its simple design and the ability to fire precise shots without the risk of pulling off target. With the hammer down (DA mode), the trigger travel is longer and requires more force, but the shooter does not need to manually cock the hammer each time.
During transport or carrying, the trigger mechanism can be locked using an adjustable safety located on the frame.
