Workshop flashlight

A professional workshop flashlight should meet 3 basic conditions: have a damage resistant structure, ensure the right amount of light and allow the flashlight to attach in such a way that it optimally illuminates the place of our work. The Fenix WT16R body is made of polycarbonate, as a result, the flashlight is not only resistant to the fall and mechanical damage, but also light. With a built -in battery, the flashlight weighs only 129 g, so you can even forget about its presence in the belt or in your pocket.

The body has the shape of a cuboid, which is why it does not slip out of the hand, it is very handy and convenient to use. The desired features of each workshop flashlight include ease and universality of assembly. Therefore, in the Fenix WT16R a double mounting system was used, i.e. a solid steel clip that allows you to wear a flashlight on the toolbar, overalls or bag and magnetic panels that allow you to quickly attach to steel surfaces. This functionality allows you to set the light at the angle we choose, thanks to which it works great during all types of repairs, inspections and lighting more difficult places.

Light concentrated or dispersed?

The light source are two front Cree XP-E2 LEDs (focused light) and side LED COB panel emitting diffused light. COB (chip-on-board) technology allowed for greater density in the LED matrix, which resulted in higher intensity and greater uniformity of diffused light. The focused light with a maximum range of 115 m has 3 brightness levels: maximum 300 lumens, medium 100 lumens and low 30 lumens. In distributed light mode, the user can use the following modes: maximum 300 lumens, low 100 lumens and yellow flash , which can act as warning light, e.g. a place of failure or danger zone.

Depending on the work performed, we can choose between the light with a larger range or more distributed space just ahead of us, thanks to which the flashlight is perfect in the workshop, construction inspection, industry, etc. Turning on the flashlight and the change of modes is done using a side switch with a built -in battery level indicator.

A battery with USB-C charging

For power supply, the manufacturer is used ł Batumulator 3.7V Li-Wor with a capacity of 2000 mAh . According to the manufacturer's data, the battery used allows nearly 4 hours of operation in a maximum mode of 300 lumens or up to 30 hours in low 30 lumens mode. In addition, thanks to the battery level indicator (LED in the side switch) we can control the work of the flashlight and manage the remaining energy supply. After each time the switch is pressed (on the off flashlight), the LEDs in real time inform us about the state of the battery. Loading of the cell takes place through the USB-C port. Full charging time is only 100 minutes (electric shock 2a), which is extremely important when working requiring frequent lighting.

The flashlight uses protection against inverted polarization, switch lock and memory mode. This function remembers and starts the flashlight in the last mode we used before turning off the flashlight.

The presented parameters were obtained in laboratory conditions. During the tests, the Li-Po 3.7V 2000 mAh battery was used.
